AI trip planner

Find the best places, then get real quotes from local agents

Describe the getaway you want in your own words. The planner works out which places actually fit, orders them into a route you could really drive, and lays it out day by day on your dates. Then vetted local travel agents quote it — so the trip you planned is the trip someone can actually run.

How it works

From a sentence to a quoted trip

Three steps, and you can stop at any of them. Planning costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

  1. 1

Say what you want, not where

“Ten days, beaches and hill country, nothing rushed.” “Somewhere quieter than that.” “Build it around Ella.” You never have to know the place names first — working out which ones fit is the part the planner is for.

  2. 2

It finds the places and builds the route

Destinations are ranked against what you said, ordered into a route that makes sense to drive, and laid out day by day on your real dates. Every stop comes with why it matches and what the trade-off is — a recommendation with no downside is a sales pitch.

  3. 3

Local agents quote the finished plan

Send the plan through to vetted agents in that country. They come back with binding quotes you compare side by side on rating, reviews and what is included. You pay the agent you choose, directly — MyGetawayBuddy adds no commission.

Why it is different

Not a chatbot guessing

Anything can write you a plausible itinerary. The difference is what happens when you try to travel on it.

  • It plans from a real catalogue, not from memory

Every destination it names is a published page on this site with real coordinates behind it. A place the model invents resolves to nothing and is dropped before it can reach you.

  • The distances are measured, so the days are drivable

Stop-to-stop distance is computed from the actual coordinates, which is what decides how long each leg takes and which day it lands on. A day plan nobody could drive is the usual way an AI itinerary falls apart on arrival.

  • It refuses to invent a price

The budget prices exactly one thing — transport, from real vehicle rates over the real route. Accommodation, activities and food are listed with no amount and a note saying the agent prices them. A plausible invented total is worse than no total.

  • It ends with people, not a wall of text

The plan becomes a document real local agents read and compete over. Their ratings and trip counts come only from travellers with a verified booking — a new agent shows “no reviews yet”, never a flattering placeholder.

What you can change

A plan you can argue with

A plan you cannot change is a brochure. Every part of this one has a control behind it, so “move that drive to the third day” is something that actually happens rather than something you get agreed with.

  • Pin the trip to a place. Name somewhere you already know you want and the plan is built around it, not past it.

  • Move a drive to a different day. Set how many nights each stop gets. The total never changes, so a night added to one comes off another.

  • Swap one stop without redoing the trip. Every stop offers nearby alternatives, each with how far it is and what it does to the total driving.

  • A map, permanently. Every destination in the country as a dot, your stops numbered and joined in order, so “the second one” has a referent.

  • Real arrival and departure days. A late landing or a long-haul flight makes day one an arrival day near the airport instead of a sightseeing day you would sleep through.

  • Save it and come back. Plans are drafts you can reopen and keep editing. Nothing is a booking until you accept an agent's quote.

Where it plans

30 real places, all of them checkable

The planner ranks the same published catalogue you can browse yourself. If it suggests somewhere, there is a page for it with photographs, what there is to do and reviews from travellers who went.

Questions

Before you start

What is the MyGetawayBuddy AI trip planner?

It is a free planning tool that turns a description of the trip you want into a real itinerary: it picks the destinations that fit what you asked for, orders them into a drivable route, lays them out day by day on your dates, and produces a plan you can send to vetted local travel agents for binding quotes.

Does the AI trip planner cost anything?

No. Planning a trip and receiving quotes is free, and MyGetawayBuddy adds no booking fee or commission. When you accept an agent's quote you arrange payment directly with that agent on their terms.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT to plan my trip?

A general chatbot writes an itinerary from memory, invents prices, and leaves you to find someone to book it. This planner only names destinations that are real published pages on this site, measures the driving distance between them from their actual coordinates, prices transport alone from real vehicle rates and refuses to invent the rest — and it ends by putting your plan in front of local agents who quote it for real.

Is a plan a booking?

No. A plan is a draft. Nothing is reserved, nothing is charged, and no agent is committed until you accept one specific quote. You can edit a saved plan, or throw it away, at any point.

Who gives me the actual price?

A local travel agent does. The planner shows an indicative transport estimate based on the route it measured, and says plainly that the agent prices accommodation, activities and everything else. The quote you receive from an agent is the binding one.

Do I need an account to use it?

You can plan without signing in. Signing in is what lets you save a plan and reopen it later, and it is needed to send the trip through to agents so they have somewhere to send your quotes.

Plan it smarter, then let agents compete for it

A few sentences is enough to start. You can change every part of what comes back.
